Payments & Fees

Getting Paid

Everything you need to know about how fees work, when you get paid, and what Capital Casting takes as commission.

How Fees Work

When you're booked for a job through Capital Casting, the client pays the agreed fee directly to the agency. We then pass on your share after deducting our commission.

All fees are agreed upfront before any job is confirmed — you will always know exactly what you'll be paid before you accept a booking.

Typical Day Rates

Rates vary depending on the type of work, the client, and the usage rights involved. Below are typical ranges as a guide:

TV Commercial

£200 – £800+

Per day, depending on usage and role

Extra / Background

£80 – £180

Per day, union and non-union rates

Modelling

£150 – £600+

Per day, catalogue to editorial

Corporate / Events

£120 – £400

Presenting, hosting, training videos

Please note: These are indicative rates only. Actual fees depend on the specific booking, client budget, and any usage agreements. We will always confirm your exact fee before a job is confirmed.

Our Commission

Capital Casting charges a standard agency commission on all bookings. This is deducted from the client fee before your payment is processed.

Our commission rate will be confirmed when you join the agency. We are transparent about all deductions — there are no hidden fees.

When Do I Get Paid?

Payment is processed once the job is completed and the client has settled their invoice with the agency. This typically takes 14–30 days after the shoot or production date.

We pay via bank transfer directly to your nominated account. You'll need to provide your bank details when you join the roster.

Tax & Self-Employment

Payments from Capital Casting are made gross — we do not deduct income tax or National Insurance on your behalf. As a performer or model working through an agency, you are typically treated as self-employed.

It is your responsibility to declare your earnings to HMRC and pay any tax due. We strongly recommend registering as self-employed with HMRC and keeping records of all your bookings and payments.

For tax advice, please consult a qualified accountant or visit hmrc.gov.uk. Capital Casting cannot provide financial or tax advice.

Expenses

Travel expenses for jobs are not automatically covered unless agreed with the client in advance. Any expense arrangements will be communicated to you clearly before you confirm a booking.
